Irish Goodbye

Welcome to

Our Philosophy

Doing Hard Things Beautifully

Dying isn’t the end of living, it is a vital part of it. We believe the final chapter of life deserves the exact same care, intention, and profound love as every single chapter that came before.

We're all just walking each other home, let's take the scenic route

- Kayla Grieve & Irish Goodbye

Modern Services for Loss & Legacy

We built the Irish Goodbye Certification Program so that the people called to do this work; to sit in the hardest rooms, to hold space for the dying and the grieving, to help families build something that outlasts loss, have the training, the tools, and the community support to do it beautifully.

We built the Irish Goodbye App so that the voices, stories, and love of the people who matter most have somewhere private and permanent to live,  recorded in your own words, preserved on your own terms, delivered to the people you love whenever the time is right.

We built the Memory Support Website so that someone living with memory loss has somewhere kind and familiar to return to on the hard days -  filled with the faces, names, and rhythms that anchor them in who they are, tended with the same care you would give anything you love.

Everything here is rooted in the same conviction: that every life deserves to be witnessed, honored, and remembered in a way worthy of it. That grief deserves somewhere real to land. That the stories only you can tell are worth preserving. That how we leave matters as much as how we lived.

The Certification Program to bridge the gap between Life & Legacy

When I took a Death Doula Certification course a few months ago, it ignited something deep within me. At the same time, it left me completely unprepared for the actual work. I received a long definition, general tips for creating comfort, and a certificate, but no real tools for the room and no guidance for the hardest moments.

In the months since, I built what should have existed. The Irish Goodbye Certification was created for the people who are truly called to comfort — the ones who always show up, stay, and know how to hold the heavy things most people walk quickly past. This program is built exactly for you: the nurse, the chaplain, the caregiver, and the individual whose passions and experiences have pointed them to this sacred space.

A Guiding Light without Over Stimulation

A Guiding Light without Over Stimulation

The Memory Support Website is built for individuals living with Dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, or other memory-related conditions. It is a simple, inviting, familiar place filled with the faces, names, and routines that form the foundation of who they are. This site is not a medical tool, it is a love letter, built in digital form, that a person can return to on disorienting days and find themselves reflected back with comfort and clarity.

Designed to be visited often with a caregiver, with a family member, or independently. Every design choice prioritizes simplicity: large text, clear navigation, familiar images, lighthearted videos, music they've loved and nothing that creates overwhelm. Offered in a DIY template or a full service build, complete with a user guide for most effective use.

Our Products

Imagine walking through your childhood home and finding a small, numbered sticker on the back of an old mahogany clock. You type this number into a small remote-like device and suddenly, your father’s voice fills the room. He isn't just telling you it’s an antique; he’s telling you about the day he bought it, why he wanted you to have it, and the love that ticks within every second.

At Irish Goodbye, we believe that the things we leave behind are only as valuable as the stories they carry. Our products are designed to help your loved ones create a living legacy that speaks long after the final goodbye.

Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.

The Irish Goodbye Cottage
Coming Someday

Imagine a place designed entirely around life's final chapter, where the beds are actually comfortable, the light is soft and warm, no one is watching the clock, and luxury means being deeply cared for.

The Irish Goodbye Cottage is designed as an all-inclusive, extended-stay sanctuary nestled on a collaborative multi-acre property in the Illinois hills. Designed for individuals and families navigating end-of-life with intention and unhurried grace,  the Cottage will offer bedside Doula care by Kayla Grieve, thoughtful culinary support by her Chef and Innkeeping husband Michael, and a full suite of restorative offerings including equine therapy, sound bathing, and programs designed to reduce anxiety, support families, and create dignity in transition.

The Cottage is the physical extension of everything Irish Goodbye has always been — a safe place to rest, built on the belief that endings deserve as much care, intention, and beauty as any beginning.

The Cottage is currently seeking aligned Partners, Investors and Donors.
